Braishfield Bees Youth FC has been running one of Hampshire's biggest grassroots 6-a-side weekends since 2015. This year's tournament brings teams from across the region to Romsey for two full days of football, community and fun — boys' and girls' age groups from U7 to U16, all on one site.
Every match, every touchline, and every cup of tea from the BBQ tent is made possible by our volunteers, our teams, and the local businesses backing us on the pages ahead. Thank you for being part of it.

Pitches 1–3 sit on the Astro, pitches 4–10 are full-size grass, and 11–12 are our smallest-sided pitches for the youngest age groups. Sign-in, BBQ, refreshments and first aid are all in the central walkway.
Our 2025 tournament, held on 30–31 August at The Mountbatten School, drew more than 270 teams and 2,500 players from across the South of England — with clubs travelling from Essex, Surrey, Berkshire, Bedfordshire, Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset and even Wales. Boys' and girls' teams from under-7s to under-16s took part over the two days, with a crowd of more than 6,000 kept going by the BBQ, ice cream van and refreshments — mixed weather included.
Scouts from Premier League, EFL and National League clubs were on hand looking for the next rising star, and every age group was played on a fully competitive basis. As the club put it afterwards, spectators were treated to keenly competitive football played in the right spirit, with fun firmly at the heart of the weekend.
Huge thanks went out to every volunteer, coach, player and external helper who pitched in across the weekend — from car parking and registration to pitch marshalling, the BBQ, first aid and the end-of-day clear-up — plus our sponsors, with particular thanks to David Wilson Homes for their long-standing support of the club.
Each year, Braishfield Bees donates £1,000 to Romsey Foodbank off the back of the tournament — on top of food and household items contributed by participating teams over the weekend.
Romsey Foodbank provides emergency food parcels for local individuals and families facing hardship, and every tin, packet and long-life item donated over the tournament weekend went straight to supporting people in our community — a contribution covered by the Hampshire Chronicle. We're proud to be running the collection again this year — look out for the donation point at sign-in.
